The Old Mill

I took Erika to The Old Mill in North Little Rock for some bridal photos. She wanted some for her wedding, as most brides do, but somehow, we never got around to it. So here we are, three years later, giving it a try. The old dress didn't fit anymore, but we found a similar dress at a shop in Little Rock.

The mill is a historic recreation of an 1880s water-powered grist mill, and it was used in the opening scenes of the classic movie, Gone with the Wind. The mill was contracted in 1933 by Justin Matthews and was built in 1933, and was to be a dedication to the memory of Arkansas' pioneers. The mill was recognized nationally in 1986 when it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

I shot a lot of photos that I really liked, but there isn't room to put them all up here. It was hard choosing my two favorites to post. These were shot with fill light from off camera flash.
