Arkansas Twisters vs. Texas Copperheads
I got to go to my first arena football game last month. It was the last game of the regular season for the Arkansas Twisters, who played the Texas Copperheads at Alltel Arena in Little Rock. Arena ball seems kind of like the original NFL Blitz game. They don't field a full 11 men like in regular football, they play on half a field, and there is a lot of show. There were two mascots, two cheerleading squads, fan games in each timeout, T-Shirts shot into the stands, free mohawk haircuts... It was a really interesting atmosphere, and the half field made for a really high-scoring game.
The Twisters ended up winning 78-26. This is my favorite shot on the night. Copperhead Tim Riley makes a touchdown catch with Twisters Tracy Belton and Nick Allison trying to break up the pass.
