The Art Scene

There's a group of artists in Little Rock calling themselves The Art Scene, and they meet the second Friday of each month at the Market Street Cinema in Little Rock. If you've only been around high school artists, I can't really help give a visual. But if you've been around serious college artists, you can picture these people together.

Each month they get together after hours at the cinema for some kind of art work in the main lobby of the cinema with extras in the individual movie theaters. This time there were bands playing in one theater, glow body painting near the dance area in the lobby, and a painting and sketching area. The Art Scene planned for a burlesque theme with few models and a photo shoot, which is where I came in.

Alli invited a few models and photographers from Model Mayhem to come along to enjoy a type of "open shoot" with The Art Scene's monthly event. I was one of three photographers there, and we set up in one of the theaters. After a bit of exploring, I decided to leave the theater and use a mural on one of the walls. I thought the busy wall with bright colors would be a great contrast to her outfit. This is my favorite from the night.
